Accreditation Validation of Chamber’s Commitment to Excellence

The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is one of only 63 chambers or boards of trade (out of over 400) across Canada that have received this elite certification.

As the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce continues its renewal and growth efforts, the Chamber team is celebrating a major milestone that validates and affirms the Chamber’s efforts and the confidence of its members.

The Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada (CACC) has once again accredited the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce until 2023, marking 10 years that the Kingston Chamber has been a member of an exclusive group of Canadian chambers and boards of trade that have demonstrated continued professional and strategic operations which reflect national standards of business excellence.

“It’s been quite the year for us at The Chamber. We restructured our organization, bringing a new energy and skillset to our operations. I am proud of our team for this achievement. As new opportunities arise, we are ready to respond quickly, leveraging our business expertise. Our outlook is strong thanks to the dedication of our board and employees, not just to business objectives but to the values that drive us,” said Greater Kingston Chamber CEO Karen Cross.

The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce is one of only 63 chambers or boards of trade (out of over 400) across Canada that have received this certification. Receiving the Accreditation Seal involves a rigorous process which the Chamber must undergo every three years. Accreditation ensures a strategic focus on core chamber activities; uniform practices and policies across the network; dependable governance procedures, distinctive brand identity; and competitive edge against other business organizations.

Tarek Hussein, chair of The Chamber’s Board of Directors, said the re-accreditation lands at a particularly significant moment for the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, “In 2021, the Kingston Chamber marked its 180th anniversary, launched a COVID-19 rapid antigen testing program and modernized its website and member directory, offering members an enriched experience.”
