BIO: Troy Reeb, Senior Vice-President, News & Station Operations, Global News

As the head of Global News and Corus Radio, Troy Reeb is responsible for all content across Corus - radio, TV, and digital. His roster spans the network?s flagship newscast Global National, local operations from 15 Global News stations and 39 Corus Radio stations across Canada ? including Kingston?s own CKWS TV and radio stations 104.3 Fresh Radio and 96.3 BIG FM.

Having reported for Global News from across North America, Europe, Africa, Russia and Japan ? including on the ground reporting from events such as 9/11 in New York, the AIDS crisis in sub-Saharan Africa and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans ? Reeb was chosen to head the organization in 2008.

Reeb has managed the addition of newscasts in every market, established Global News? award-winning Multi-Market Content (MMC) broadcast model and spearheaded Global News? commitment to covering breaking news online and via social media with Global News? digital-first strategy ?resulting in Globalnews.ca becoming the second most popular news site in Canada. On the radio side Reeb orchestrated the rebranding of Corus? AM radio stations with the Global News Radio moniker, aligning newly affiliated stations with the success of Global News.

Reeb is a passionate board member of Journalists for Human Rights, which trains journalists from developing countries to report on human rights and governance abuses. Outside of news and radio, he?s a ?football dad? who enjoys travelling; having visited more than 100 countries, he loves a game of Trivial Pursuit ? especially the geography questions.
